Repair of knitwear (wool/cashmere)

First-class clothing also deserves first-class service. We would like to offer you a one-stop service and use our entire network of possibilities and experts to do so. We are delighted to have gained Ms. Karvelis (Cashmere-Retter.de), an expert in cashmere and knitted woollens, as a cooperation partner. The best thing for our customers: your order will be given priority and there are no upfront costs.

Ms. Karvelis and her team cannot turn an old sweater with holes into a new item, but some damage to your knitwear can be repaired so well that the damaged area can hardly be distinguished visually from its original state. See for yourself.

Our cooperation partner Cashmere-Retter.de repairs the most common types of damage to knitted garments competently and precisely:

Holes (caused by fire, moths or falling)
Tears and cuts
Pull threads and running stitches
Frayed sleeves and trouser legs
Worn, threadbare elbows
other damage
Damaged areas are usually only repaired with original yarns, which are carefully removed from the repair piece in an inconspicuous place. If this is not possible with some knitwear, the workshop has a well-stocked arsenal of wool yarns in a wide range of colors and thicknesses.

In addition to repair work of all kinds, we also offer all customers alterations such as shortening sleeves, trouser legs or the overall length of knitwear.

Further work
On special customer request, threadbare elbows can also be repaired by sewing on patches made of high-quality goatskin. To prevent the patches from rubbing, the worn area underneath is first roughly repaired.

Additional care services such as washing and unpilling are also only possible for accepted repair orders if the customer specifically requests this.

Work on garments made of woven wool fabrics is not offered.

Calculation of costs
In order to determine the cost of a repair in advance, the damaged knitted item must first be inspected by Cashmere-Retter.de. In addition to the size, number and position of existing holes or other damaged areas, the knitting technique and material of the piece also determine the cost of a successful repair. The time required for a repair is the decisive factor for the cost calculation.

After the assessment, customers receive a cost estimate for the planned repair. If the order is placed at the estimated price, Cashmere-Retter.de will start work promptly. If our cooperation partner or we are informed that the cost estimate is not accepted and no order is placed, Cashmere-retter.de will return the damaged knitwear by parcel at no further cost to the customer.

Please send your garment either to us or directly to the Cashmere-retter studio.
